The Keweenaw is our newest design to bring to the market. This hull is unlike any hull you have ever paddled, providing not just excellent initial, but also secondary stability. It accomplishes this at a slim 23". All composite materials weighs her in at a scant 38lbs! The Keweenaw is a unique design providing loads of leg room and space under the deck while still providing a conforming cockpit for that "one with the kayak" feel.
Hull Design - Shallow V, Hard chine, with a upper (above the chine) soft radius
This hull is unique in a multitude of ways. The shallow V bottom provides great initial stability, and the hard chine gives excellent tracking and edging ability. Unique to the Keweenaw, above the hard chine the hull has a soft radius providing excellent secondary stability. The width was maintained at 23".
Cockpit - Big changes here
Continuing to innovate on the coaming, the Keweenaw's coaming provides easy entry/exit into the kayak while still providing that conforming fit with adjustable backbrace, seat options (choose from the conforming seat or the larger seat pan), and thigh braces.
Tracking
The sharp keel line provides great tracking. While not necessary, the Keweenaw can easily be outfitted with a rudder for the river runners out there.
Hatches and Bulkheads
Two hatches (bow and stern) provide plenty of storage room and structural support.
